Posted on: Wednesday, September 30, 2009
As a Gold Certified Microsoft Partner with competencies in Data Management, Information Worker (SharePoint), and Mobility, Point Alliance has been selected by Microsoft as a strategic partner to go to market with the SQL Server and BI Accelerator programs.
Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) solutions can help organizations improve business performance by driving better decision making. Powered by Microsoft SQL Server and delivered through the familiar Microsoft Office system front-end, Microsoft business intelligence technologies work together to provide value to users of all types across Canadian organizations. FY10 will be an extremely significant year in the history of Microsoft business intelligence from a technology capability standpoint as we prepare for the releases of SQL Server 2008 R2 (with the “Gemini” self-service BI functionality), SharePoint 2010, and the rest of the 2010 Office system.
As you know, Microsoft® SQL Server 2008 delivers on Microsoft’s data platform vision by delivering a rich set of software and integrated services that enable organizations to do more with their data. The release of SQL Server 2008 marked an important and strategic milestone for Microsoft and its data management technology partners. Additionally, the release of SQL Server 2008 R2 in the spring of 2010 will be very significant.
Microsoft is the fastest growing relational database management system (RDBMS) and business intelligence vendor and our technology releases have arrived at a very opportune time. The Canadian RDBMS and BI Platforms software market is expected to reach $800M and Microsoft and its data management technology partners are well-positioned to capture larger market share – especially given the low TCO that our solutions offer.
