Lotus Workplace products

Explaining what Lotus means by the human side of e-business on demand, Ambuj Goyal, Lotus software general manager, says "Businesses used to focus on integrating employees' knowledge, rather than the employees themselves. They tried to convert people's knowledge into automation so they didn't need people. That's the wrong model. Our objective is not to take people out of the process, but to get people engaged so they make more informed decisions faster. Our objective is to make people more effective."

That's where IBM Lotus Workplace comes in. Lotus Workplace integrates multiple collaborative capabilities -- e-mail, calendaring and scheduling, instant messaging, discusssion forums, team collaboration, collaborative learning, document and Web content management -- into a single platform to integrate people with business processes.

Lotus has been rolling out Lotus Workplace products since the spring delivery of Lotus Workplace Messaging. Now the new 1.1 version of Lotus Workplace includes four products. We've described all four below. You can read straight through to hear about all of them. Or you can go straight to the collaborative product that interests you most:

Lotus Workplace Collaborative Learning -- On demand e-learning for a smarter, more responsive workforce

Lotus Workplace Messaging -- Including everyone in the on demand enterprise

Lotus Workplace Team Collaboration -- Collaborating -- being coordinated, informed and more resilient
